Supporting your healing journey through a relational and systemic lens

EMDR Intensive Therapy

Working with people in Anglesea, Torquay, Geelong and Surf Coast & Australia-wide.

EMDR Intensive Therapy

At Freedom to Breathe, I offer EMDR intensives for individuals seeking a deeper and more focused approach to trauma healing.

Each intensive is designed to move beyond the limits of weekly sessions, creating a spacious and supported environment where meaningful shifts can unfold more naturally.

Drawing on EMDR, Schema Therapy, and systemic approaches, we work not only with memories, but with the deeper patterns shaping how trauma lives in the body, relationships, and nervous system.

Whether you are navigating recent events or long-held patterns from earlier life, this immersive approach offers a powerful path toward integration and relief.

This isn’t just EMDR

It’s a spacious container where nervous systems finally remember how to rest.

Intensive work creates the time and continuity needed for deeper processing, allowing the mind and body to move through trauma with greater coherence and support.

Why this Intensive Trauma Therapy is Different

You may have experienced:

  • Sessions that help you understand what’s happened, but something still feels held in the body

  • A sense of trying to move forward, while parts of you still feel impacted by the past

  • Conversations that bring insight, but don’t quite reach the patterns shaping your life

Here, EMDR becomes an invitation…

to gently work with what’s still held, and begin to reconnect with your body, your boundaries, and your story.

Yes, I’m ready for a more focused way of working - lets begin…..

Trauma is a psychic wound that hardens you psychologically that then interferes with your ability to grow and develop. It pains you and now you’re acting out of pain. It induces fear and now you’re acting out of fear. Trauma is not what happens to you, it’s what happens inside you as a result of what happened to you
— Gabor Maté

What is EMDR Intensive Therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy recognised worldwide for its effectiveness in treating trauma.

It helps the brain reprocess distressing memories so they no longer carry the same emotional intensity or disruptive impact.

EMDR intensive therapy involves longer, focused sessions that allow this work to unfold more fluidly than traditional weekly therapy.

By creating extended therapeutic space, intensives often allow people to experience deeper progress in a shorter period of time, while still moving at a pace that honours your nervous system.

What we hold Together in this Work

This therapy integrates several important dimensions of trauma healing.

  • Nervous system attunement
Before trauma processing begins, we focus on helping your system feel resourced and supported so the work can unfold with emotional safety.

  • Systemic understanding
Trauma rarely exists in isolation. Together we explore the patterns shaped by family, relationships, and the roles you have carried.

  • Embodied integration
Healing is not only cognitive. The body needs space to integrate what has shifted.

  • Sovereignty
You are not something to be fixed. This work supports you to reconnect with your own inner authority and sense of self.

Is this Right for You?

This approach may feel right if:

  • you sense that EMDR could be helpful and you want more depth and continuity than weekly sessions allow

  • you have spent years supporting others and are ready to turn toward your own healing

  • you want not only relief from trauma, but a deeper reorganisation of how healing lives within you.

Let this be a space where healing slows down enough for your body to finally rest.

How this work is Offered

While this work is primarily offered in person, assessment and integration sessions can be held online when needed, particularly for those people travelling.

Some clients choose to return once integration has taken place. You can read more about returning to EMDR Intensive Therapy.

 Frequently Asked Questions

  • EMDR is helpful for anyone experiencing emotional or physical symptoms from past adverse experiences. It’s not just for trauma - it can also help with performance anxiety, limiting beliefs, and somatic distress.

  • EMDR intensives offer a more immersive and accelerated path to healing.
    Benefits include:

    • Faster progress and deeper integration

    • More cost and time-efficient

    • Increased nervous system regulation and relational connection

    Program Options:

    • Program One & Day Program: 3 months of EMDR in 1 week

    • Program Two: 6 months of EMDR in 2 weeks

  • In just three days or day program, you can begin to:

Transform long-held relational and emotional patterns shaped by family, culture, and early attachment

Reduce the emotional and somatic intensity of trauma-related responses across multiple parts of the self

Strengthen inner resources and emotional resilience, supporting more flexible responses in relationships

Create internal alignment and lay the foundation for deeper, ongoing integration in future therapy or personal growth

Each person’s experience is unique. While many people notice meaningful shifts during or shortly after the intensive, the pace and depth of change varies depending on what’s being explored and what your system is ready to process.

    Please note:
An EMDR intensive is not about reprocessing your whole life story in one go. It’s not a “one-and-done” experience, but rather a powerful starting point (or deepening) in your healing journey. The work is focused, intentional, and paced to support what your system is ready to process. Many clients find it helpful to return for future intensives or ongoing integration work as deeper layers naturally emerge over time.

  • This format supports deeper systemic healing and integration:

    • Emotional processing of relational wounds and intergenerational trauma held across parts and within the family system

    • Repair of attachment patterns and increased capacity for nervous system regulation

    • Insight into systemic influences - how family, cultural, and relational dynamics shape current patterns and protective parts

    • Integration of new relational pathways, supporting shifts in how different parts relate to self and others

    • Expansion of self-agency, with greater coherence between inner parts and external relationships

  • Cancellation and Re-scheduling policy.

Booking an EMDR Intensive Program involves reserving dedicated time in my calendar across multiple sessions. This time is held exclusively for you. To support a clear and contained process, the following policy applies.

    Payment

A non-refundable deposit of $250 or $500 (program dependent) is required to secure your program dates.

The remaining balance is due 7 days prior to the first assessment session.

    Rescheduling

You may reschedule your intensive once, ideally with 14 days’ notice, without additional fees (subject to availability).

If less notice is given, I will always do my best to accommodate changes where possible.

In the case of unexpected or significant circumstances, I will approach this with care and offer flexibility where appropriate. This flexibility is intended for genuine situations and is not ongoing.

Further changes may require a new booking and deposit.

    Cancellations

The deposit is non-refundable and is retained in all cases.

If cancellation occurs before the remaining balance is due (more than 7 days prior to commencement), no further fees are payable.

If cancellation occurs after the remaining balance has been paid (within 7 days of commencement), I will approach this with care and consider what is appropriate. This may include retaining part of the program fee, depending on the timing and circumstances, or offering rescheduling where possible.

    Please note

EMDR Intensives involve significant preparation and dedicated time held across multiple sessions. Late changes impact the ability to offer this work to others.

    Thank you for your understanding.

  • In the unlikely event that I need to reschedule a session, I will provide as much notice as possible and offer an alternative time as close as possible to your original booking.

EMDR Intensives are structured pieces of work, and continuity is important. For this reason, sessions are rescheduled rather than refunded.

If a suitable time cannot be found within the same week, we will work together to find the earliest appropriate alternative to maintain the flow of your process.

  • Yes, please see the fees and rebates page for the structure of payment plans.
