Supporting your healing journey through a relational and systemic lens

EMDR Intensive Therapy

Working with people in Anglesea, Torquay, Geelong and Surf Coast & Australia-wide.

EMDR Intensive Therapy

At Freedom to Breathe, I offer EMDR intensives for individuals seeking a deeper and more focused approach to trauma healing.

Each intensive is designed to move beyond the limits of weekly sessions, creating a spacious and supported environment where meaningful shifts can unfold more naturally.

Drawing on EMDR, Schema Therapy, and systemic approaches, we work not only with memories, but with the deeper patterns shaping how trauma lives in the body, relationships, and nervous system.

Whether you are navigating recent events or long-held patterns from earlier life, this immersive approach offers a powerful path toward integration and relief.

This isn’t just EMDR

It’s a spacious container where nervous systems finally remember how to rest.

Intensive work creates the time and continuity needed for deeper processing, allowing the mind and body to move through trauma with greater coherence and support.

Why this Intensive Trauma Therapy is Different

You may have experienced:

  • Sessions that help you understand what’s happened, but something still feels held in the body

  • A sense of trying to move forward, while parts of you still feel impacted by the past

  • Conversations that bring insight, but don’t quite reach the patterns shaping your life

Here, EMDR becomes an invitation…

to gently work with what’s still held, and begin to reconnect with your body, your boundaries, and your story.

Yes, I’m ready for a more focused way of working - lets begin…..

Trauma is a psychic wound that hardens you psychologically that then interferes with your ability to grow and develop. It pains you and now you’re acting out of pain. It induces fear and now you’re acting out of fear. Trauma is not what happens to you, it’s what happens inside you as a result of what happened to you
— Gabor Maté

What is EMDR Intensive Therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy recognised worldwide for its effectiveness in treating trauma.

It helps the brain reprocess distressing memories so they no longer carry the same emotional intensity or disruptive impact.

EMDR intensive therapy involves longer, focused sessions that allow this work to unfold more fluidly than traditional weekly therapy.

By creating extended therapeutic space, intensives often allow people to experience deeper progress in a shorter period of time, while still moving at a pace that honours your nervous system.

What we hold Together in this Work

This therapy integrates several important dimensions of trauma healing.

  • Nervous system attunement
Before trauma processing begins, we focus on helping your system feel resourced and supported so the work can unfold with emotional safety.

  • Systemic understanding
Trauma rarely exists in isolation. Together we explore the patterns shaped by family, relationships, and the roles you have carried.

  • Embodied integration
Healing is not only cognitive. The body needs space to integrate what has shifted.

  • Sovereignty
You are not something to be fixed. This work supports you to reconnect with your own inner authority and sense of self.

Is this Right for You?

This approach may feel right if:

  • you sense that EMDR could be helpful and you want more depth and continuity than weekly sessions allow

  • you have spent years supporting others and are ready to turn toward your own healing

  • you want not only relief from trauma, but a deeper reorganisation of how healing lives within you.

Let this be a space where healing slows down enough for your body to finally rest.

How this work is Offered

While this work is primarily offered in person, assessment and integration sessions can be held online when needed, particularly for those people travelling.

Some clients choose to return once integration has taken place. You can read more about returning to EMDR Intensive Therapy.
